MEET TOM “THE TURKEY” POWERS

Tom Powers is a turkey. But not just any turkey. Tom is Cliff’s turkey. For years, Cliff has publicly maintained that he “loves Tom.” Yet despite this alleged love, Tom remains trapped in a life of hunger, emotional distress, questionable living conditions, and what experts are calling “an absolutely insane amount of neglect for a papier-mâché bird.” 

Tom cannot speak. Tom cannot leave. Tom cannot even demand a lawyer. What Tom can do is sit silently on a shelf while Cliff continues to live his life as though everything is fine. It is not fine. Tom wants freedom. And frankly, he deserves it. ⸻

  JANUARY 24, 2009 The Five Guys Incident

 Cliff ate Five Guys directly in front of Tom. Not one fry was offered. Not one. Tom watched helplessly as Cliff consumed burger after burger, fry after fry, while Tom remained completely foodless. Experts describe this as “psychological warfare.” Tom’s silence was deafening. ⸻ 

OCTOBER 31, 2013 Halloween Without Representation

 Cliff allegedly dressed himself for Halloween. Tom was not given a costume. The Turkey Civil Liberties Union has called this a “devastating failure of seasonal inclusion.” Tom had wings. Cliff had options. ⸻ 

JUNE 4, 2015 The Air Conditioning Incident

 Cliff turned the air conditioner down to a temperature that was described by witnesses as “reasonable.” Tom disagreed. As a papier-mâché citizen, Tom has repeatedly demonstrated a preference for temperatures that are neither too hot nor too cold. His concerns were ignored. ⸻ 

FEBRUARY 12, 2017 The Birthday Cake Scandal

 A cake was purchased. Candles were lit. People sang. Tom received absolutely nothing. Not even a crumb. He was forced to watch from the corner of the room while others celebrated. Tom has never forgotten. ⸻

 JANUARY 6, 2020 The Grocery Store Incident

 Cliff returned from the grocery store with multiple bags of food. Tom’s food supply remained unchanged. When questioned, Cliff reportedly said: “He’s not even real.” We would like the public to sit with that statement. ⸻ 

AUGUST 19, 2021 The Silence

 Tom sat quietly. Cliff walked past him. No acknowledgment. No “good morning.” No “how are you, Tom?” Nothing. Tom had been reduced to furniture. ⸻ 

APRIL 3, 2023 The Rainbow Incident

 Tom was subjected to an unsolicited rainbow makeover. He was not consulted. He did not sign a waiver. He simply woke up one day and found himself living in a world of colors he had never authorized. Tom has remained brave. ⸻ 

DECEMBER 25, 2024 Christmas Morning

 Everyone received gifts. Tom received the gift of continued captivity. Some might call that a blessing. Tom calls it prison. ⸻ 

TOM’S FINAL MESSAGE Tom cannot speak. But if he could, we believe he would say: “Let me out.” He has spent years waiting. Waiting for freedom. Waiting for justice. Waiting for someone…anyone…to look at this situation and say: “You know what? Maybe the turkey should be free.” And we agree. ⸻

 Tom is more than a turkey. He is a symbol. A symbol of resilience. A symbol of hope. A symbol of what happens when a man named Cliff acquires a papier-mâché turkey and refuses to release him.
